geocitieslycostripod.com

Just deployed a new site to display my HTML5 learnings so far.

The idea is to demonstrate the proper use of the section, article, time, header and footer tags. I might have used a couple others. I've also used some CSS3 text-shadow rules for the first time ever in a production website. I hope to get positive comments from you about the site.

So go to my new site: http://geocitieslycostripod.com for the full glory of HTML5.

PS. Hey, I didn't say anything about Web 1.0 or Web 2.0 or anything!

loved it! when you add a search box make sure you offer 99 different search engines!

Heh You've provided amazing proof that not even HTML5 can prevent obnoxious site design.

but you need more blinking stuff, audio that can't be turned off, and at least one cute kitteh or dancing hamster.

Favorite parts are a tie between the title "Hypter Textual Marking Language 5" in the source, and the 98 copyright date along with best viewed in netscrape text at the bottom.

Great work

This site is a joke, right? :D I Laught a lot! XD
"I think there is nothing wrong with tables." is the best part ever! LOL!!!
Like Web Standards don't even exist! I LOLed hard too. XD
It's like a resume of all the bad/horribles sites on geocites, lycos and tripod! Congrats on your joke site! :D

Thanks, everyone.

You've noticed most of the little details I've tried to pay attention to. There are a couple more. Wonder if you'd catch them?

why is this site offline? yesterday i had the same idea, and it seams you had it years before me. unfortunately i cannot find your site anymore :(

In typical Geocities/Lycos/Tripod style, this site is dead as well. What better way to pay tribute, I guess. ;)

Since the site is dead is there an alternate for your work? like hosting it on Github perhaps?
